The only man with a tougher Christmas shift than Santa Claus is back for his third outing in this excellent seasonal thriller.
I am, of course, talking about DI James Walker. Following a move from London up to picturesque Cumbria, Walker must have been hoping for a quieter life. How wrong he was as for the third year he finds himself having to solve a murder!
The only plus point for the Walker family was that the murder didn’t happen until New Year’s Eve this time so at least they got to spend Christmas Day and Boxing Day together! Would Walker have truly been able to fully relax though given the events of the last couple of years?
A fast- paced story which sees a murder at a wedding on New Year’s Eve kick off proceedings. I loved all the twists and turns and kept changing my mind as to who I thought was guilty of the crime! So many red herrings! Good twist at the end too!
A great read, and one which leaves me looking forward to the next outing for DI Walker.
